Admins select a base language, additional languages, and source text channels. Members use the language picker or /language. The current repository offers 22 language choices; this is a configuration inventory, not a native-speaker quality guarantee.

Private stays tied to membership.

Ordinary members need both the original room’s membership and their selected language. Dedicated access roles are reconciled by the bot. Updates retry durably and are not instantaneous. Discord administrators and server owners retain unrestricted visibility.

Admin setup

Use Translator’s own approved invite, then /translator setup base:English. Select languages and source channels, and review the generated language picker. Manage Server is required for administrative commands; Administrator is not required for the bot.

Useful limits

Attachments are linked, not translated. No voice translation, OCR, general forum/thread mirroring, or full message-history import is promised. Delivery can duplicate around a network or process failure. Each private conversation consumes an extra role per language; Discord’s role limit applies.
