Choose a language and chat
Members select one language, then use the connected channel they can see.
Choose your language#
- Open the server’s #choose-language channel or the language-picker message your admin supplied.
- Select your language using the picker. You can also run /language.
- Wait for your language and channel access to update.
- Open the connected conversation in your selected language.
/languageSend and edit a message#
Write normally in a connected text channel. Bunny Translate translates new messages into the other configured languages. Translations can flow back to the base language too. Edit or delete your original message to update or remove its tracked translated copies; a webhook copy is not the place to edit the original.
Switch languages#
Choose another language using the same picker. The bot replaces your previous language choice while keeping unrelated roles. Access updates can take time and retry if Discord is temporarily unavailable. Switching language does not grant membership in a private conversation.
What is not translated#
- Attachments are linked; the bot does not translate text inside images or provide OCR.
- Voice, general forum/thread mirroring, reactions, polls, and pins are not covered by this channel-mirroring flow.
- It handles new messages after setup, not a full import of old channel history.
- Automatic translations can misunderstand tone, names, slang, or context. Check important messages with their author.
If a conversation disappears#
You may have no language selected, be waiting for access to update, or lack membership in the original private conversation. Try the picker once, then ask an admin to check the original channel’s membership and /translator status.
