Names, frames, and messages
Customize the welcome result without changing what the completion timer proves.
Choose a nickname policy#
/verifier naming mode:keep/verifier naming mode:kingdom/verifier naming mode:template template:Sir {username}/verifier naming mode:funny funny_names:Sir Snacks-a-Lot|Captain Chaos|Duke of NapsKeep preserves the member’s name and is the default. Kingdom enforces the configured kingdom policy. Template uses your pattern. Funny uses the names you supply. Ensure the bot can manage the affected nicknames and follow any member-input prompt.
Design the welcome card#
/welcome appearanceSupply a PNG or JPEG frame up to 8 MB and 16 million pixels. Set avatar_left, avatar_top, and avatar_size as percentages. Left and top position the avatar’s top-left corner; size is a percentage of frame width. Keep the square avatar inside the frame.
Use {username} in the announcement message to insert the resulting display name. Frames are copied into bot-managed storage rather than depending on a temporary Discord attachment link.
Change an existing setup#
Appearance changes preserve active video timers and survive subsequent welcome setup. Use /welcome status after a change and test the final card in the selected announcement channel. Changing a frame does not fix missing Attach Files permission.
Disable the welcome flow#
/welcome disableThis turns off the gate and announcements without changing members’ existing roles. Review your server’s entry permissions and other auto-role rules when disabling it; the command does not redesign access to member areas.
